At MIDCARDS, we are big fans of the art on MTG cards. So much so, a big feature of our Instagram content is matching the cards with nail art.

After each month we will gather together our matches in a blog post, with a short explanation of how we would use each card in a Commander deck.

Mirym, Sentinel Wyrm

Why use it in a Commander deck?

A legendary creature with flying and ward 2 to copy non-token Dragons.

An added bonus making the token non-legendary to keep them both on the board.

Use as a Commander for a Dragon typal deck.

Why use it in a Commander deck?

A low cost instant for hexproof and life gain.

Use the rebound ability for two turns of benefit.

Why use it in a Commander deck?

A 4/4 with reach that helps you look for an enchantment.

Get an enchantment to your hand from your top five cards when this creature enters.

No luck in finding one? Gain 4 life instead.

Use in an enchantment deck with Green.

Alchemist’s Assistant

Why use it in a Commander deck?

A 2/1 with lifelink.

Use the ability from the graveyard to give lifelink to a big creature later in the game.

A creature to give you some card advantage.

Lands to hand and other cards may go into your graveyard.

Use in a landfall deck that makes use of the graveyard.

Rope

Why use it in a Commander deck?

A useful equipment to give a buff, reach and keep blocks limited.

Use as a clue to draw a card.

Use in decks with Green using clues.
