At MIDCARDS, we are big fans of the art on MTG cards. So much so, a big feature of our Instagram content is matching the cards with nail art.


After each month we will gather together our matches in a blog post, with a short explanation of how we would use each card in a Commander deck.

Why use it in a Commander deck?


Find a Shrine and use the mana ability to create Spirit creature tokens.

Why use it in a Commander deck?


An instant for removal.


With a clue as compensation.


Use in any deck.






War Balloon


Why use it in a Commander deck?


A flying 4/3 vehicle with crew 3.


Pay to put fire counters on to enable it to be a creature.


Use in artifact decks.





Appa, Loyal Sky Bison


Why use it in a Commander deck?


A legendary creature with etb and attack abilities.


Pick the one that fits best.


Use in Airbending decks.

Bison Whistle


Why use it in a Commander deck?


An artifact for draw.


Get creatures into your hand or a Bison on the battlefield.


Use in creature heavy decks with Bison.





Otter-Penguin


Why use it in a Commander deck?


A creature that benefits from a second draw.


Not only a buff for the turn but unblockable too.


Use in draw decks.




Chameleon, Master of Disguise


Why use it in a Commander deck?


A legendary creature that can be a copy of a creature you control.


A useful card to copy your Commander.


Use in a deck making use of triggers or abilities.




Hijack


Why use it in a Commander deck?


A sorcery for stealing.


Take an opponent’s creature and hit them with it or make use of an artifact!
